Why We Endorse Jessica
Kevin Kiley, the current representative from District 3 to the U.S. House of Representatives, has voted against the interest of local residents too many times.
He voted for a nearly 44% reduction in wildfire suppression funding and has voted against sensible gun control so often that he has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA). He’s also attacked teachers’ unions and, supported extreme candidates for local school district races.
Worse, these were the only things we could really find out about Kevin Kiley becuase he has done so little in his terms in Congress, sponsoring few bills. Those few that he has will not make significant changes to the lives of local people in any meaningful way.
We need someone who thinks about what local residents need. That’s why FRDC endorses Jessica Morse for U.S. House of Representitives from District 3.
She is endorsed by Safer California (which advocates for gun safety) and Mom’s Demand Gun Sense, the California Labor Federation, and the pro-choice Emily’s List. She places high priority on fire prevention, clean energy, and water purity. She believes in transitioning to a clean energy economy through solar and wind power, both of which we have a great deal of in District 3. She is is the exact opposite of Kevin Killey.
About Jessia
Jessica Morse is the former deputy secretary at the California Natural Resources Agency. Jessica is a fifth-generation resident of the district which includes Lake Tahoe and the Eastern Sierra. Morse spent her career in public service.
She deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Agency for International Development and spent the next decade serving in national security roles in the State Department and Defense Department fighting corruption, human trafficking, and terrorism.
Following the devastating Camp Fire in Paradise, Jessica dedicated herself to finding solutions to prevent catastrophic wildfires in California. As deputy secretary, she designed and implemented a national model for wildfire prevention programs that protect California families, homes, communities, and public lands, yielding significant reductions in megafires.
